JENBACHER® PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
2,000 Hour Maintenance
Depending on the operating conditions, air and gas filters are replaced. The interior of the engine is inspected using a boroscope. The condition of the liners, pistons, and valves is checked. Valve lengths are measured. The valve adjustment is checked and performed if necessary. Spark plugs are cleaned and adjusted.
10,000 Hour Maintenance
At the 10,000-hour maintenance, depending on the operating conditions, deposits on the cylinder heads and pistons are cleaned. If necessary, cylinder heads are sent for reconditioning. A general cleaning is performed. Crankcase ventilation and intercooler measurements are taken, and if required, reconditioning or replacement is carried out.
20,000 Hour Maintenance
At the 20,000-hour maintenance, depending on the operating conditions, cylinder heads are sent for reconditioning. Connecting rods are measured and replaced if necessary. Mechanical components such as pistons, liners, connecting rod bearings, connecting rod bushings, valves, etc., are replaced.
Periodic Maintenance Procedures:
Valve Adjustment:
Valve adjustment is the process of optimizing the gap between the rocker arm and the valves. This gap, which is set during manufacturing for the engine to run efficiently, can change over time. Valve adjustment is performed after maintenance using a feeler gauge.
Boroscope Inspection:
If there is a potential issue with the engine, or during the 2,000-hour maintenance, a boroscope is inserted through the spark plug openings to inspect the pistons, valves, and liners. Additionally, the turbocharger and other engine parts can be inspected using a boroscope. Boroscope inspection is crucial for detecting and diagnosing issues early.
Spark Plug Cleaning:
Spark plug cleaning is generally done at the 2,000-hour maintenance, depending on operating conditions. Rust, scaling, and siloxane deposits on the spark plug tips are removed without damaging the spark plug. You can try our MOTORTECH spark plug cleaning kit for safe and easy cleaning without damaging the spark plugs.
Emission:
The air-gas mixture ratio should be optimized every 2,000 hours. Additionally, emission adjustments may be necessary when the type of gas, weather conditions, or methane content changes. Contact us for cost-effective emission service solutions.
Oil Change:
Oil changes are performed when oil condition tests indicate that the oil can no longer be used. There is no fixed interval for oil changes; it varies depending on the type of oil and operating conditions. Contact us for affordable and high-quality oil and oil change services.
Oil Filter Replacement:
The quality of the oil and operating conditions directly affect the lifespan of the oil filter. The filter is replaced based on the oil pressure differential at the filter inlet and outlet. The oil filter is also replaced during each oil change.
Air Filter Replacement:
The air filter is usually replaced every 2,000 hours, depending on operating conditions. The replacement decision is made based on pressure differentials and filtration efficiency. Environmental factors such as air pollution, heavy dust, and smoke can cause filters to clog faster. Pre-filtration is necessary for extending air filter life, especially in areas with heavy dust or pollution.
Gas Filter Replacement:
The lifespan of the gas filter varies depending on the type of gas used but generally, it is replaced every 2,000 hours.
Crankcase Ventilation Filter:
The crankcase ventilation filter is replaced every 6,000 hours under normal conditions, though this can vary depending on operating conditions. For Jenbacher gas engines, we offer a special crankcase ventilation filter solution with a flanged design, allowing you to replace just the filter element and significantly reduce costs.
Intercooler Refurbishment:
The intercooler on Jenbacher gas engines is replaced or refurbished based on operating conditions. It is measured every 2,000 hours, and if the pressure differential indicates the need for replacement, the intercooler is refurbished or replaced. As intercoolers are expensive components, refurbishment is recommended.

Turbocharger Refurbishment:
Turbochargers can wear out or become damaged depending on operating conditions and external factors. Turbo refurbishment, which includes replacing turbine blades and seals, can provide significant savings.

Cylinder Head Refurbishment:
Cylinder heads are typically sent for refurbishment after 20,000 hours, depending on operating conditions. The refurbishment includes the renewal of valves, valve seats, springs, and other related parts.

MWM® PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
MWM® GAS ENGINE PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Light Maintenance
Light maintenance is performed every 2,000 hours. The engine is inspected internally using a boroscope. The condition of the liners, pistons, and valves is checked. Valve lengths are measured. The valve adjustment is checked and performed if necessary. Spark plugs are cleaned and adjusted, or replaced if needed. Depending on the operating conditions, air and gas filters are replaced. Crankcase ventilation and intercooler measurements are taken, and if necessary, refurbishment and replacement are carried out.
Deposit Cleaning
At the 10,000-hour maintenance, depending on operating conditions, deposits on the cylinder heads and pistons are cleaned. If necessary, cylinder heads are sent for reconditioning. General cleaning is performed.
Heavy Maintenance
Cylinder heads are sent for refurbishment. Connecting rods are measured and replaced if necessary. Mechanical components such as pistons, liners, connecting rod bearings, connecting rod bushings, valves, etc., are replaced.
